The Element of Inspiration

Princess Twilight landed in the Crystal Empire and went first to look for Starlight and her daughter, Comet Shine. If there was anyone in Equestria that represented the element of Inspiration in the Empire, Starlight and Comet would know. However, as Twilight neared their home, she noticed the element of inspiration was losing its glow. Was it possible that either it belonged to one of Comet's neighbors, or maybe even Comet herself?

After opening the door,  Comet readily let the alicorn in, getting some tea on the table like she did whenever the princess would visit.

"How are your magic studies coming along? I understand that your father has been teaching you some new spells." Twilight explained.

Comet nodded. "Yeah, we just started on gravity spells. So far, I'm not very good at those. I-I can do them, but... well, it always leaves me with a headache afterward, and Dad wants me to keep trying until I can perform the spells without gaining a headache." she explained.

Twilight simply nodded. The young unicorn honestly reminded her of her younger self; cunning, and smart, but also pretty anti-social. Though that was hardly Comet's fault. Starlight and Sunburst had been forced to take her out of school when the other foals made fun of her unique markings and what at the time was a blank flank. And of course she was no longer referred to as a blank flank, but her unique white markings on her face, front hooves and ears were still different than what most Crystal Ponies here in the Empire had, so being anti-social was a barrier she put up to keep herself from being made fun of.

Twilight could understand that. Comet enjoyed being around the friends she had but wasn't interested in making new friends. She could respect that.

"So, Comet, can I ask you to come back with me to Ponyville? I could use your help with something." Twilight said softly.

"Um... Sure Aunt Twilight. Let me go pack real quick." Comet nodded, going to pack something. She simply packed a small bag and then returned as Twilight clasped a simple necklace with a purple gem around her neck.

"Come on. We need to make one more stop before we go."

I fully admit I tried about a hundred times to get Comet's usual design to work on this, but this just looked better.

Also, the blue things on Twilight's regalia are a throwback to her original element crown, from before she was a princess. The yellow is a throwback to her Rainbow Power form.

Also, I am insanely proud of how this came out. Coming up with a good design for Twilight's mane and drawing her regalia was incredibly hard, but I love the payoff.

No crown for Twi because A. She only ever wears it for specific things in the show anyways, and B. I tried forever and it never looked right.

No weird shoe thingies for Twi either because she doesn't have them in the show, and they didn't look right on her either.

I found Comet's cutie mark on Google. If it belongs to anyone and said person wants me to remove it from Comet's flank, tell me politely and I will do so.
